Kewanee High School Athletes Make Local Sports History

With the unusual sports seasons, including the addition of a summer sports season for High School athletes, some have taken the opportunity to make local history. 5 Kewanee athletes have done something that few Kewanee High School athletes have done, earning letters in 4 different sports. Kewanee Athletic Director Tim Atwell tells WKEI that 4 Kewanee High School athletes earned letters in 4 different sports in the 2020-21 school year and one athlete, earned 5 letters in 5 different sports, a first of it’s kind achievement.

Emma Crofton participated in Golf {Fall}, Basketball {Winter}, Volleyball {Spring}, & Track {Summer}
Julian Quintero participated in Cross Country {Fall}, Basketball {Winter}, Soccer {Spring}, & Track {Summer}
Cristian Cazares participated in Cross Country {Fall}, Basketball {Winter}, Soccer {Spring}, & Track {Summer}

Emma Crofton is the first female athlete in Kewanee High School history to earn 4 letters in one school year.

William Taylor participated in Cross Country {Fall}, Swimming {Winter}, Football {Spring}, Wrestling & Track {Summer} –Will is the 1st athlete to letter in 5 sports in the same year.
