Kewanee Boilermakers Fall to Geneseo in Tournament Season Opener

It was a full on dogfight between the Kewanee Boilermakers and the Geneseo Mapleleafs on Monday night in Geneseo. The scrappy teams went head to head in the first game of the Geneseo Holiday Tournament and the atmosphere was electrict as Geneseo’s Bristol Lewis, who was playing against a pair of his Kewanee cousins, went for 40 points to lead Geneseo to victory 72 to 69. But boy was it close as Niko Powe poured in 34 points and Brady Clark backed him up with 18 points. Kewanee will next play United Township on Friday at 10:30 Am in Geneseo.
