SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Cassidy Jurkaites put a cap on her Western Illinois women’s golf career by sealing a spot on the Summit League All-Academic team, the league announced Wednesday (May 20).
Jurkaites is an accounting major with an impressive 3.91 cumulative grade point average and recently graduated with her bachelor’s degree in the spring.
In competition, the Mishawaka, Ind., native played 19 rounds while averaging a career-low 78.95 per 18 holes. Jurkaites delivered a season-low 73 during the opening round of the Butler Fall Invitational and she notched 10 other rounds of sub-80 play. Her 54-hole score of 226 for seventh place at the Butler Fall Invitational tied for the 10th-lowest 54-hole score in program history.
To be eligible for the Summit League All-Academic team, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 or higher on a scale of 4.00 and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution.
