New Horizons Learning Center and Daycare Receive Emergency Child Care Status from the State

New Horizons Learning Center and Daycare has received emergency childcare status from the state of Illinois. New Horizons applied for an emergency child care license on March 20th and received the license on Wednesday. The daycare, operated by Peterson Health Care in Kewanee, is therefore considered to be providing essential services for those in the health care field or those who are considered essential to work at this time. According to the release from New Horizons, 48 families currently use their services including 29 families in the health care field. New Horizons is taking precautions to assure that the children in their care are safe. These precautions include limiting the number of children in any one room, sanitizing toys and furniture regularly, and continuous hand washing. The emergency childcare status for New Horizon was made official on Wednesday after a five day grace period for the company’s application to be considered.
