Galva Police Department Arrest and Citation Report 06-08-2020

June 1, 2020 through June 7, 2020

 

June 1

Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 3rd Street for a complaint of a domestic dispute involving juveniles. 

Officer warned a citizen who had a dog running loose at Wiley Park about the leash law.

Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of North Center Ave for a utility wire down across the roadway. 

Officer spoke to a Kewanee resident by telephone about assisting her with retrieving a car that she loaned to a subject, and failed to return it.  Officer checked around town and was not able to locate it. 

Officer spoke to a subject by telephone in reference to a theft that occurred in the 400 block of NW 1st Ave.

Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 1st St for a telephone threat. 

Officer, along with the fire department and Stark Co Medic, were dispatched to a vehicle fire just east of town on Route 34. 

 

June 2

Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 3rd Ave for a child custody dispute. 

Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 7th Ave for harassing text messages.

 

June 3

Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 2nd Ave for a complaint involving a juvenile riding a bicycle in the rain with lightning in the area.  Officer was not able to locate anyone. 

Officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of SE 2nd St to check the welfare of a subject sitting in the ditch. 

Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4th Street for a civil complaint involving a vehicle purchase. 

Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 2nd Street for a young child playing near the roadway unattended.  DCFS was contacted. 

As the result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street, Bailey Leverette, 20, Galva, was arrested for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle, and having one headlight.  He was released with a required Henry Co court date. 

 

June 4

Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for a complaint involving disorderly conduct.  

Officer was dispatched to the railroad crossing on Exchange St for a report of a semi knocking down the crossing arm.  BNSF was contacted for repairs. 

Officer met with a resident who located drugs while cleaning out a vacant house.  The items were taken for disposal. 

Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 1st Street for a 9-1-1 call.  It was determined to be a mis dial. 

Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Commercial Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call.  It was determined to be an accidental dial. 

Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NW 1st Ave for a loose dog complaint.  This report was unfounded. 

 

June 5

Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of North Center Ave to direct traffic for the Galva Street Dept. 

Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street for a traffic complaint. 

Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street for a complaint involving a small child left in a vehicle unattended.  

June 6

Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 2nd Street for a motorist assist. 

Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 9th Ave for a traffic complaint. 

Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of NW 5th Ave for a welfare check on an elderly subject.  The subject was located and advised they were out for a walk. 

Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SW 1st Ave to assist a resident who caught a raccoon in a live trap. 

 

June 7

Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of SW 4th Street to remove an unwanted subject following a disturbance. 

Officer assisted the Henry Co Sheriff’s Office with a suspicious vehicle / warrant arrest on 300 North just east of town. 

Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NW 8th Street for a complaint involving a suspicious vehicle.  

Officer was dispatched to meet with a complainant at the Galva PD.  After an investigation, Michael Rouch, 31, Galva, was issued a notice to appear in Henry Co court for the charge of harassment through electronic communications.  

Officer was dispatched to Route 34 east of town to check the welfare of a female subject walking.  The officer was not able to locate anyone. 

Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of Wallace Street for a fireworks complaint.  Officer was not able to locate the source of the fireworks. 

Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to update their sex offender registration. 

Officer warned a resident in the 00 block of SW 9th Ave about lighting illegal fireworks.
