August 17
Officer was flagged down in the 100 block of NE 7th Street in reference to a verbal domestic dispute.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 3rd Street for a suicidal subject. The subject was transported by ambulance for treatment.
Officer met with a citizen at the Galva PD in reference to a battery that occurred in a rural area. It was referred to Henry Co for follow up.
August 18
Officer assisted the Galva Street Dept with getting several vehicles moved in the SE and NE quadrants so the roads could be oiled and chipped.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 4th Street for a barking dog complaint.
A resident in the 700 block of NW 3rd Ave called and advised they were burning a brush pile.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 3rd Street for a parking complaint.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 00 block of Morgan Road, Dalayna Harmon, 20, Kewanee, was arrested for not having a valid drivers license. She was released with a required court date. A 16 year old passenger was found to be entered as a missing runaway juvenile. The child was released to a relative.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 5th Street for a report of young children playing outside and unattended. They were released to a parent.
Officer was dispatched to remove an unwanted subject at a residence on NE 4th Ave.
Officer was dispatched again to remove an unwanted subject at a residence on NE 4th Ave.
August 19
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 9th Ave for a domestic battery. As the result, Troy Newman, 50, Galva, was arrested for domestic battery and taken to the Henry Co jail. The charge was not filed by the Henry Co States Attorney’s Office and Troy was later released.
Officer saw a young child unattended in the 200 block of Exchange St. The child ran away and a large search was conducted, without locating the child. About 12 hours later, the child’s parents brought him to the Galva PD for an apology. The 8 year old had snuck out of the house and had returned without the parents realizing it. The parents checked surveillance footage and saw the child had snuck out of the house.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 8th Street to check the welfare of a resident who was seen outside yelling and screaming, with nobody else around.
Officer spoke to a resident by telephone about an ongoing harassment by telephone complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4th Street for a civil complaint.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 4th Ave to check the welfare of a subject there.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 1st Street for a burning complaint on a non-burn day.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 3rd Ave to assist a citizen.
Officer was advised that all Galva railroad crossing arms were down but no trains were present. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 2nd Street for a reckless driving complaint. The offender was located and was having vehicle problems.
August 20
Officer was dispatched to a 9-1-1 hang up call that plotted in the 100 block of Exchange St. It was an accidental pocket dial from a passing motorist.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd St. A motorist had gotten fuel and other items and the clerk did not charge for the fuel. The subject was located and returned to pay.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 3rd Ave for a loose dog complaint. The dog returned home about an hour later.
Officer was dispatched to the park district baseball field for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be an accidental pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 6th Ave for a loose dog complaint. The dog returned home later.

August 21
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of West Division Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be an accidental dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 1st Street for an illegal burning complaint.
Officer assisted Henry Co with a traffic stop and vehicle search east of town on Route 34.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave for a disturbance complaint.

August 22
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 5th Ave for a loose dog complaint. The dog was returned to it’s owner.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 4th Street for a burning complaint involving grass that was creating alot of smoke.
Officer was dispatched to a domestic dispute in the 400 block of North Center Ave.

August 23
Officer was advised of a stolen vehicle complaint that had just occurred south of Galva in Knox County.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 8th Ave for a loose dog complaint. The dog was located and impounded.
Officer was dispatched to a business on SW 2nd Street to remove an unwanted customer.
Officer was dispatched to a reckless driving complaint in the 700 block of NW 1st Ave.
As the result of an investigation in the 00 block of Morgan Road, Dustin Brock, 31, Galva, was arrested for unlawful possession of weapons by a convicted felon, possession of firearms without a FOID card, possession of firearms within 1000 feet of a school by a felon, and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. He was transported to the Henry Co jail.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 9th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be an accidental pocket dial.
