June 22
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 3rd Street for a city ordinance violation.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2nd St for a complaint involving a detained cat. The cat was taken to the vet’s office and later returned to it’s owner.
Officer was flagged down in the downtown area about “loud fireworks” that were being set off somewhere around West Division St and SW 9th Ave.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 00 block of SW 2nd St, Dalayna Harmon, 20, Kewanee, was arrested for not having a valid drivers license. She was released with a required court date.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 700 block of West Division St, Robert Miller, 29, Galva, was arrested for driving while license suspended. He was released with a required court date.

June 23
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SE Industrial Ave for a 9-1-1 open line call. It was determined to be an accidental pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Main Street for a report involving a young child being outside without adequate supervision. The parent was located and the child returned.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th St for a 9-1-1 open line call. It was determined to be a child playing with the phone.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of NW 7th Ave, Rebecca Johnson, 23, Galva, was arrested for driving while license suspended. She was released with a required court date.
A Galva officer assisted with a high speed chase that Stark Co was involved with. The chase went through Galva and ultimately ended with an arrest in Altona. The driver, Joshua Davidson, 39, Kewanee, was charged for numerous violations within the Galva city limits. The traffic charges are: driving in the wrong lane, reckless driving, 5 counts of failure to stop at a stop sign, driving onto private property to avoid a traffic control device, driving too fast for conditions, aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving while license suspended, and speeding 98 in a 35 mph zone. The Galva officer also charged Davidson with possession of methamphetamine, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, obstructing justice, and reckless conduct after Davidson reportedly threw a container out of the vehicle in town during this incident. Davidson was transported to the Stark Co jail for numerous charges through their department.

June 24
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th St for a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to a civil standby to retrieve items from the 200 block of Market St.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 4th Ave to remove an unwanted subject.
Officer was flagged down about a semi truck that struck the railroad crossing arm at the Exchange St crossing. BNSF was notified for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 2nd Ave for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined that a pet activated the alarm.
Officer was dispatched to the downtown area for a traffic complaint involving a suspended driver. Officer was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of West Division St for a fireworks complaint. The offender was given a warning that fireworks are illegal.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 1st Ave for a theft complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NE 2nd St for an attempted phone scam.
As the result of a battery complaint in the 00 block of NE 4th Ave, Joseph Arnold, 37, Galva, was arrested for domestic battery and transported to the Henry Co jail.
June 25
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block to assist Stark Co Medic with an activated medical alarm. The resident was not home and it was an accidental activation.
Officer was notified by BNSF railroad that they received an alarm for the Exchange St crossing that was malfunctioning. Officer noticed that all Galva crossings were activated with no trains present.
Officer was flagged down by a citizen in reference to a civil property dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 9th Ave for an ongoing issue with fireworks being set off. As the result, Joseph Sallee, 39, Galva, was issued a citation for violation of the pyrotechnic use act.

June 26
Officer was dispatched to multiple complaints involving fireworks being set off on the north side of town. The officer was not able to locate the source.
Officer assisted a transient with lodging at the Galva motel.
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD in reference to a child custody issue.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd St for a gas drive off.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 2nd St for a trespassing complaint.
June 27
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Exchange St to assist a citizen needing directions.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 4th Ave for a harassment complaint involving text messages.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block SW 4th Ave for a civil standby to retrieve property.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th St to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of NW 3rd Ave for a complaint involving suspicious persons. The subjects were attempting to catch frogs.
Officer was dispatched to Olaf Krans Ave for a fireworks complaint. Officer was not able to locate the source.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1200 block of SE 2nd St. As a result, the driver, Gustavo Avilez, 19, Kewanee, was arrested for speeding more than 35mph over the limit. His passengers, Efrain Corral, 19, Kewanee, and Carlos Vargas, 20, Cicero, were each issued citations for illegal transportation of alcohol by a passenger.

June 28
Officer was dispatched to the intersection of West Division St and NW 4th Ave for a 2 vehicle accident with damage only. A crash report was completed.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 3rd St for a suspicious vehicle complaint.
Officer was dispatched to Sentry Estates for an attempted scam complaint.
