Area Police Reports

Illinois State Police

The Illinois State Police responded to a disturbance on Saturday, August 14th, at approximately 11:29 a.m. at 314 North Woodlawn Road in Creston. During the investigation, Kyneate R.
Thomas, 19, of Creston, was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for Criminal Damage to Property. Thomas was transported to the Ogle County Jail and lodged.

Julia B. Alcantara-Romero, 41, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was stopped for speeding on Sunday August 15th, at 4:19 p.m., on Interstate 88 westbound at milepost 37 in Whiteside County and was charged with driving while license revoked and speeding. Alcantara-Romero was released on an I-bond.

Dixon Police

Douglas J. Carlson, age 59, of Dixon, Illinois, was arrested in the 800 block of North Brinton Avenue on Saturday, August 14th, at 1:30 a.m., for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, Improper Traffic Lane Usage, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Yield for a Emergency Vehicle. Carlson was processed and released.

Darin Betts, 43, of Rock Falls, Illinois, was arrested in the Unit Block South Galena Avenue, Sunday, August 15th, at 1:09 a.m., for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Betts was processed and released with a Notice to Appear in court.

Polo Police

Monday, August 9th, Rebecca L. Cantrell, 61, Dixon, was cited for speeding 51 MPH in a 30 MPH speed zone.  Cantrell was released on an I-Bond. Tuesday, August 10th, Stephanie J. Drought, 38, Polo was issued a City Ordinance Citation for Unlawful Use of a Cell Phone. August 10th, Kary a. Mowry, 49, Chana, was cited for speeding 44 MPH in a 30 MPH speed zone.  Mowry was released on a I-Bond. Friday, August 13th, Audrey Vinson, 61, Dixon, was cited for speeding 42 MPH in a 30 MPH speed zone.  Vinson was released on an I-Bond. Sunday, August 15th, Ian Kaufman, 18, Oregon, was cited for speeding 52 MPH in a 30 MPH speed zone.  Kaufman was released on an I-Bond.  August 15th, Rachel R. Ware, 34, Oregon, was cited for Unlawful Use of a Cell Phone and a Warning Ticket for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

Morrison Police

On Friday, August 13th, at approximately 11:13 pm, Morrison Police arrested Melissa S. Frame, age 36 of Clinton Iowa, pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County, charging Frame with Failure to Appear – Driving While License Suspended. Frame was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Saturday, August 14th,  at approximately 1:50 am, Morrison Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on North Jackson Street at East Main Street, Morrison. As a result of the investigation, Gregory L. Ottens, age 30 of Morrison, was arrested and charged with Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Ottens was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, was processed and then released with a Notice to Appear.

The public is reminded that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
