Protecting the citizens of Whiteside County is my most important responsibility. To fulfill this duty, my office remains continuously informed of local, regional, state and national public health information regarding the COVD-19 pandemic. We will continue to adapt and make changes as necessary to protect the public from this virus.
Effective May 1, 2020, to reduce the spread of COVID-19, all persons entering or present within the Whiteside County Courthouse will be required to wear a mask. This order is consistent with the Executive Orders of the Mlinois Governor, the Administrative Orders of the Chief Judge of the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit and the Presiding Judge of Whiteside County, and with all available public health guidance.
As a reminder, effective May 1, 2020, until further order of the Court, all persons appearing in any courtrooms shall wear an appropriate mask or face covering at all times.
Due to shortages of PPE, masks will not be provided by the Sheriff’s Office to the public, except as to those who must appear in order to request an Order of Protection and who do not otherwise have adequate masks of their own.
Furthermore, every person entering the Courthouse will have their temperature taken. Anyone with a fever above 100.4 will not be allowed to enter into the Courthouse,
Just to clarify the Courthouse is still closed except by appointment only.
Your cooperation and patience is appreciated during this unique situation.
John F. Booker, Sheriff
