The Sterling Police Department is asking for the public‘s assistance in regards to numerous vehicle windows that were damaged. In the late evening hours of Monday, April 26th, and early morning hours of Tuesday, April 27th, a large number of vehicle windows were broken out on unoccupied and parked vehicles. The damage appears to have been caused by pellets or air soft rounds being shot at the vehicle’s windows by a passing vehicle.
The damage to the vehicle windows occurred city wide and not in any specific area. Officers were also alerted to a large number of similar instances that occurred in Rock Falls during the same time periods.
The Sterling Police Department is asking for anyone that has any information about the incidents or anyone that has any exterior surveillance cameras or video in the areas of the damage to please contact the police department at 815–632-6614. The investigation is on-going.
