This Week is Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Illinois

t’s Severe Weather Preparedness Week The National Weather Service wants you to be aware of the potential for severe weather again this spring. It’s Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Illinois and Missouri, and in the wake of deadly tornadoes earlier this week in Tennessee, it’s a good opportunity to review how you receive weather information. National Weather Service Senior Meteorologist Ben Herzog says the more advance warning they can give when the weather turns severe, the more prepared you can be.

Herzog reminds there are a number of different ways to receive weather warnings, including through a weather radio, notifications on your smart phone, and local radio station.
