Rising Cost of Recycling Discussed at Monday Kewanee City Council Meeting

The rising cost of Recycling was a topic of discussion at Monday night's Kewanee City Council Meeting. The conversation was prompted by what is expected to be a significant increase in the cost of recycling operations between the City of Kewanee and Eagle Enterprises as Rod Johnson explained…

The question then became what to do about the rising cost of recycling. City Council members indicated a desire to continue the program but the question remains over the cost which will be rising from $67.00 per ton of recycling to $140.87 per ton…

The City Council will be seeking the input of the public regarding raising fees and the future of the City of Kewanee Recycling program over the next several weeks.
