Princeville Man and Two Passengers Killed in Logan County Plane Crash

The Illinois State Police and the Logan County Coroner have released the identities of three people killed in a small plane crash on I-55 near Lincoln, Illinois. According to the Illinois State Police 22 year old Mitchell W Jansson of Princeville was the pilot of the 2013 Cessna 172 that crashed just before 8:30 Am on Tuesday morning. Also killed in the crash were 33 year old Matthew R Hanson of Pulaski, Wisconsin and 30 year old Kevin G Chapman of Urbana, Illinois, passengers aboard that flight. The airplane departed the Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington, IL on Mar. 03, 2020. Janssen was a certified flight instructor for Synergy Flight Center in Bloomington, Illinois. No other information is being released at this time.
