Despite fears over COVID-19, Primary voting in Illinois is moving forward. Henry County Clerk Barb Link tells WKEI that her office along with the Henry County Health Department are working to assure that you can safely cast your vote today. Teams from the Henry County Health Department will be traveling to polling places across Henry County today to help with sanitizing voting booths and equipment. All election workers have been trained to sanitize these areas as well. The Health Department will add an additional layer of disinfecting and cleaning to the efforts of election workers in order to assure that voters are safe while casting votes. That said, if you do feel sick, please do stay home and adhere to CDC guidelines. Polls open at 6 Am and will close at 7 Pm. Four other states have called off their Tuesday primaries but Governor J.B Pritzker has made it clear that the Illinois Primary will move forward today.
