New Windsor Woman Arrested in Moline Hit and Run Case

A New Windsor woman has been arrested following a hit and run accident on John Deere Road in Moline earlier this week. According to information from the Moline Police Department, the accident occurred at approximately 3:31 Am near the intersection of 38th Street and John Deere Road. Police arrived on scene to find a male victim who’d been riding a motorcycle that had been struck by another vehicle. The victim was suffering from major injuries and was rushed from the scene to a local hospital. Witnesses at the scene indicated to investigating officers that the suspect vehicle was no longer at the scene but was a white Dodge Ram driven by a white female driver.

A short time later, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department made contact with, Lily M. Stratton 47-years-old from New Windsor, Illinois. During that time, they located Stratton’s 2013 white Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck which has damage consistent with a motor vehicle crash. The Mercer County Deputy who located Stratton was able to piece together Moline’s investigation and determined Stratton to be the suspect and the Dodge Ram to be the suspect vehicle which struck the motorcyclist and left the scene on John Deere Road. Mercer County notified Moline Police of their related investigation.

Stratton was arrested and charged by the Rock Island County States Attorney’s Office with Failure to Report an Accident with Injuries (class 2 felony) and Aggravated DUI/Accident/Bodily Injuries (class 4 felony). Stratton is currently out on bond after posting the required 10% of her $5,000.00 bond.
