Make Sure You Have All of Your Needed Tax Documents – IRS

It's tax season and one of the things you don't want to overlook is whether you have all the tax documents you need before you file. Michael Devine from the IRS says that this is a more common mistake than you may think and that filing your taxes before you have gathered all of the needed documents can cost you on your return… 

 

One thing you should not do in trying to get your taxes filed quickly is use a pay check stub as an indication of your overall yearly income. This document may not have all of your tax information in it and it can lead to some big trouble on your return… 

 

If you don't know what documents you must have to properly file your return, don't be afraid to contact the IRS. Go to IRS.gov and they will help you make sure you have all of the correct documents.
