Kewanee School Board Calls Special Meeting for Tuesday, July 7th

The Kewanee School Board will meet at 5:30 Pm on Tuesday, July 7th for a Special Meeting. This Special Meeting will include discussion of the upcoming fall school year and plans for a hybrid of at home studies and in person schooling. The meeting will be held at the Petersen Auditorium at Kewanee High School to provide for social distance. Also on the agenda for Tuesday’s Special School Board Meeting, the bid to Kewanee Schools for concrete to build the new opposing team bleachers at Kewanee High School. Also on the agenda, the Kewanee School Board will decide whether or not to retain the services of Klein, Thorpe and Jenkins, Ltd. For a Tax Appeal Matter.

Consideration and Approval to Hire Valley Construction as Construction Manager for the Kewanee High School Home Ec Addition will also be on the agenda for the meeting. And, finally, Discussion of the 2020-2021 School Year will take place and it is expected that Kewanee Schools will design a system that allows for students to continue to work from home if their parents choose to keep them out of school, while also re-opening school facilities and welcome back students who wish to attend in-person classes.
