Kewanee Police Seeking Three Suspects in Early Morning Car Theft and Assault

Three men, believed to be teenagers, are being sought by Kewanee Police following an early morning series of car theft attempts. According to information from the Kewanee Police Department, the suspects were seen in the early morning out of Thursday in the Northeast part of Kewanee. The suspects were attempting to open car doors and just after 4 Am in the area of See Street, a homeowner caught one suspect inside of a vehicle. That homeowner was then assaulted by three individuals who then fled the scene. The first of three suspects was described by the victim as being possibly a white or Hispanic male, 15-18 years old, approximately 6’0″-6’1″ with a skinny build. The second suspect was described as a black male, approximately, 15-18 years old 5’9″-5’10” with a skinny build. The third suspect was described as white male, approximately 15-18 years old, approximately 5’9″-5’10” with a heavier build.

One suspect was seen on a homeowner’s Ring Camera just before 4 Am unsuccessfully attempting to enter a vehicle in the homeowner’s driveway, the link to that footage is below.
