Kewanee Food Pantry Changing Operations to Continue Service

The Kewanee Food Pantry will close on Thursday and re-open next Tuesday. That word from Lisa Janey, the director of the Kewanee Food Pantry. Talking to WKEI Lisa explained that concerns about COVID-19 caused the operational changes. The Kewanee Food Pantry will be closed on Thursday. When it re-opens next Tuesday, the plan is to be open for regular hours but not to have anyone enter the food pantry. Instead, those in need will drive through to pick up. Those coming to the food pantry next Tuesday should enter from the Brick Road, west of the Building. You will then pull forward to the first door on the right. The driver will then open their trunk. If you do not have room in the trunk you will not be able to get a box. Boxes will only be given out during the regular business hours, 10 Am to 2 Pm. If you are in line at 2 Pm but have not received a box you will need to come back on Thursday. These rules are in place until further notice. Hours at the Food Pantry are Tuesday, 10 Am to 2 Pm and Thursday, 3 Pm to 6 Pm.
