Kewanee City Councilman Mike Komnick Discusses Budget Issues and Pet Ordinances with WKEI

Kewanee City Council Member Mike Komnick was our guest on Tuned In on Thursday on WKEI. The Kewanee City Council tabled the 2020-21 fiscal year budget until the next Kewanee City Council Meeting on Monday, June 29th, just prior to the start of the new fiscal year on July 1st. The reasons were some discrepancies in numbers from the Illinois Municipal League which revised their numbers after the Council had essentially agreed on a budget deal during a budget meeting. Those changes in the IML numbers meant changes to the Kewanee Budget and the Council wanted more time to process the changes. Mike Komnick explained the situation in our interview. Also during our Tuned In conversation, Councilman Komnick addressed the newly passed ordinance requiring pet registration in Kewanee.
