Increased Strength of Polar Vortex Leading to Mild Winter

Last week, temperatures fell below zero for the first time this winter, just a few months after weather officials said we were in store for another long, cold winter. Miller indicates to see the first sub-zero temperatures almost halfway through February is very rare for this part of the world.
