Henry County continues to see a rise in the number of cases of COVID-19. 11 new individual cases of COVID-19 were announced on Tuesday. That brings the total number of cases since Mid-March to 315 and the total number in the month of August alone to 122. Stark County continues to hold steady at 8 individual cases of COVID-19. The Henry and Stark County Health Department will announce their latest recovery rate data on Wednesday based on the findings from 130 cases between Henry and Stark County.
As for the latest statewide numbers, on Tuesday, the Illinois Department of Public Health announced 1,740 new cases of COVID-19 statewide. Alongside that announcement, the IDPH announced that 27 more people had died from COVID-19 between Monday and Tuesday. That brings the totals since the start of the pandemic to 209,594 individual cases of COVID-19. Of that number, 7,782 people have died from COVID-19. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from August 11 – August 17 is 4.3%. As of last night, 1,510 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 335 patients were in the ICU and 128 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
