Henry County Adds 14 New Individual Cases of COVID-19 on Thursday

The latest numbers offer more bad news for Henry County as the Henry and Stark County Health Department announced another 14 new individual cases of COVID-19 across the county. That brings the total since the start of the pandemic to 337 individual cases. In the month of August alone, there have been 144 new individual cases of COVID-19. Stark County meanwhile announced its first new COVID-19 positive test since late July. The Henry and Stark County Health Department now has positive tests in Stark County up to 9 since the start of the pandemic.

As for the latest statewide COVID-19 numbers, on Thursday, the Illinois Department of Public Health announced 1,832 people had tested positive for COVID-19. Additionally, another 27 people died from COVID-19 between Wednesday and Thursday. That brings the totals since the start of the pandemic to 213,721 individual cases of COVID-19. Of that number, 7,833 people have died from COVID-19. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from August 13 – August 19 is 4.4%. As of last night, 1,519 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 357 patients were in the ICU and 124 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
