On Thursday, the Henry and Stark County Health Department announced 13 new positive cases of COVID-19. That brings the Henry County COVID-19 total to 813 total cases of COVID-19. 128 of those 813 positive cases have occurred in the Month of October. Start County added on new case of COVID-19 on Wednesday. That brings the Stark County total 81 confirmed individual cases of COVID-19. Neither Henry or Stark County are expected to be on the Governor’s Orange warning list when that is released on Friday afternoon.
As for the latest statewide number, the Illinois Department of Health reported that 44 more people died from COVID-19 related causes on Thursday. A new record in single day positive tests was hit on Thursday with 4.492 new individual cases of COVID-19. That brings the totals since the start of the pandemic to 9,387 people in Illinois who have died from COVID-19 related causes. There have been 360,159 individual cases of COVID-19 in Illinois since March. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from October 15 – October 21 is 5.7%. As of last night, 2,463 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 525 patients were in the ICU and 212 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
