Henry and Stark Receive Disaster Declaration Still No Cases of COVID-19 Confirmed in the Area

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, Henry and Stark County have been declared disaster areas. The disaster declaration will help with the distribution of resources to combat COVID-19. Henry County Director of Emergency Management Mat Schnepple made the announcement in a press release over the weekend. According to the release, Henry and Stark County are teaming at this time to move resources into place to prepare in case of a positive test. The disaster declaration was confirmed by Henry County Board Chairman Marshall Jones and Stark County Board Chairman Alan Curry. This is  part of an existing  agreement between the counties for emergencies. The disaster declaration unlocks particular resources that the Office of Emergency Management believes are vital to the response to COVID-19.
