The City of Geneseo has joined the list of cities in Henry County with 5 or more confirmed cases of COVID-19. Geneseo joins Atkinson, Colona and Kewanee in having 5 or more people with a confirmed case of COVID-19. The Henry and Stark County Health Department announced Geneseo had 5 more confirmed cases of COVID-19, after they announced that Henry County’s total number of COVID-19 patients increased to 42. It’s the first time since last Thursday, April 24th, that Henry County had announced a new confirmed case. Stark County remains at just 1 diagnosed case of COVID-19.
Statewide numbers from Governor Pritzker’s press conference on Tuesday afternoon include 2,219 new cases confirmed. 144 more people died from COVID-19 and were announced on Tuesday. That brings the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state to 48,102. More than 2000 people in Illinois have died of COVID-19, a total of 2,125 thus far in Illinois alone.
