Former Legislative Inspector General Says Legislative Ethics Commission Cannot Be Trusted

In damning testimony on Thursday, the former Legislative Inspector General, Julie Porter, stated the panel of lawmakers that make up the Legislative Ethics Commission cannot be trusted. Porter, who left her position as the Legislative Inspector General last year, told the Joint Commission on Ethics and Lobbying Reform that the Ethics Commission routinely blocked founded allegations against lawmakers during her time as the Inspector General.
