The Hog Days Stampede has gone virtual but some traditions are still being celebrated. Those traditions include the annual marking of the course by Stampede founder Nelson Lay and his assistant Jay Cone. That means that if you are participating in this year’s virtual Hog Days Stampede you do have the option to run the regular Hog Days course if you choose to. That said, the virtual Hog Days allows runners to run the course of their choice. Sign up and you can run wherever you are comfortable, from your favorite trail to your favorite treadmill. The only requirement is going the full four miles between the dates of September 4th through September 7th.
Sign up today at GetMeRegistered.com/HogDaysStampede. The cost to participate is $25.00 and that entitles you to a Hog Days t-shirt, a medal for completing the race and the chance to win prizes. Participants are urged to share pics from their run, wherever it is taking place, on the Hog Days Stampede Facebook page, linked here. The 2020 Hog Day Stampede is presented by Breedlove’s Sporting Goods, Galva-Kewanee-Stark County Physical Therapy & Rehab Specialists, Community State Bank, OSF Healthcare St. Luke Medical Center and the Star Courier.
