City of Kewanee to Resume Recycling and Landscape Waste Pick Up

The City of Kewanee has announced that the Transfer Station will re-open. And, Recycling and Landscape Waste Pick-up will resume, next month. According to a release from the City of Kewanee, the transfer station will open for business again on May 4th with some rules. Anyone taking anything to the Transfer Station, must wear a face covering. You will also be required to unload your vehicle on your own. Hours for the Transfer Station, as of May 4th, will be 7 Am to 11 Am and 11:30 Am to 3 Pm. Special Saturday hours will begin on May 9th from 9 Am to 12 Noon.

The City of Kewanee also announced on Thursday that recycling pick up will resume. On May 5th, recycling pick-up will resume alongside regular trash pick-up. Residents will need to have their recycling and trash on the curb by 6 Am on their regular pick-up days. Be sure that recycling is kept at least three feet away from your trash cart. Recycling pick up will be conducted using the regular recycling truck and non-automated trash trucks to accommodate the large amount of recycling amassed over the past several weeks.

Landscape waste pick-up will begin again on May 18th. However, there will be no landscape waste pick-up the week of May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.
