City of Kewanee Begins Budget Process with Discussion of Revenue

On Monday night the City of Kewanee began the process of planning the next City budget. On Tuesday, City Council Member Mike Komnick joined WKEI on our People to People program to talk about the process of crafting a City budget and how he is approaching his first time as a council member in budget meetings… 

Monday night's Budget Session laid out revenues and discussed taxes as well as other sources of City of Kewanee revenue including ambulance service to the Village of Neponset… 

Budget sessions in the City of Kewanee will continue for the next several weeks. As for this past Monday's first session, Councilman Komnick stated that while there wasn't much in terms of notable items, it's important to be aware of these numbers moving forward and the ways these numbers can be affected by outside sources… 

Budget sessions in the City of Kewanee are open to anyone who would like to attend and find out more about the process and about city funds. The next Budget session will take place at Kewanee City Hall on Monday, March 16th.
