Candidates Considering a Spring 2021 Kewanee City Council Run Can Get Election Packets This Week

The challengers can begin to lineup today at Kewanee City Hall. If you are considering running for the Kewanee City Council, election packets for the Spring 2021 election will become available today. The election packet contains official candidate petitions and elections rules for potential candidates to follow in order to be eligible to be on the ballot. 21 resident signatures, notarized, are required in order to be on the ballot to run for Kewanee City Council. Candidates must also have proof of Kewanee residency, establishing that they have lived in Kewanee for at least one year prior to running for election, proof of voter registration, the candidate must file a statement of economic interest with the Henry County Clerk and sign the candidate loyalty oath.
