Students from Black Hawk College will be collecting items for those in need on Wednesday, July 1st, at Anderson Family Coffee in Galva. The Black Hawk College volunteers are working with the Kewanee Area United Way to collect needed items such as diapers, cleaning supplies, Deodorant, gently used clothing that will be given to the Salvation Army. Soap, Toilet Paper, Toothpaste and Feminine Products. All of these items will be put into care packages and given to those in need. Stop by Anderson Family Coffee between 7 Am and 10 Am on Wednesday, July 1st to drop off these needed items. Anderson Family Coffee is located at 326 Front Street in Galva.
Speaking of the Kewanee Area United Way, non-profit agencies that would like to partner with the Kewanee Area United Way still have the opportunity to make that partnership happen. The Kewanee Area United Way, which currently boasts a roster of 16 local partner agencies, is taking applications through July 10th. Non-profits chosen by the Kewanee Area United Way will have the opportunity to receive grants from the United Way to support their efforts, among other benefits of United Way affiliation. To get an application for your Non-Profit Agency, go to KAUW.org and download the application. You can mail your application back to the Kewanee Area United Way at P.O Box 426, Kewanee, Illinois, 61443. Or you can drop off the application in person at the Kewanee Area United Way office at the Henry County Senior Center in Kewanee.
