Bishop Hill Announces Cancellation of Fall Events

Todd Dedecker from the Bishop Hill Heritage Association broke the bad news on Monday night with numerous cancellations of fall events due to COVID-19. According to the release from the Bishop Hill Heritage Association, 4 events planned for the next several weeks and months have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled for this year. Cancelled for August 29th was the concert Dancing Queen: An Abba Salute, a tribute to the legendary Swedish pop band. Also cancelled was the annual Bishop Hill Ag Days known as Jordbruksdagarna, September 26th and 27th.

Concerns over COVID-19 and the numerous restrictions entailed in protecting guests, employees and volunteers led to further cancellations deeper into the fall as well. The October 10th event, March of the Women concert by Phil Passen and the October 24th event Protest Songs of Illinois Workers concert by Bucky Halker were also officially cancelled on Monday. The Bishop Hill Heritage Association did say that they plan to bring back Jordbruksdagarna in 2021 and that they are still planning events for late fall and the winter though those plans would be subject to potential changes.
