Princeton Radio Stations Nominated
Best Radio Station Community Service Award
(Princeton) Regional Media’s PrincetonNewsNow WZOE 1490AM, Z-98 Illinois Valley’s Hit Music, and Dam Country 100.5 WRVY have been nominated for the prestigious Best Radio Station Community Service Award for its work in rescuing the trio of stations in Princeton.
As the Illinois Broadcasters Association announced the finalists for this year’s Silver Dome Excellence in Broadcasting Awards, Regional Media’s team was overjoyed to be recognized by the IBA for such an amazing award.
“It’s very rare that you get recognized for saving local stations. It has been our goal to reconnect local radio stations to the communities they were once serving so well. It really is amazing to be recognized.” said Fletcher M. Ford – President and CEO
As broadcasters remain on the front lines of the Covid-19 Pandemic, plans for a virtual awards ceremony are underway to ensure the safety of all involved.
Longtime local radio personality and current host of Wake Up Princeton on PrincetonNewsNow WZOE 1490AM Paul Bomleny said, “We are honored to be nominated for this prestigious award. It’s great to be part of a work environment at Regional Media that lends itself to helping others throughout the community. We look forward to continuing to do our part to help the Illinois Valley area prosper now and in the future.”
Regional Media continues to invest in the Princeton radio group with a complete remodel and construction of new studios, and replacement of broadcast equipment scheduled later this year.
“We are truly honored to be recognized by this nomination for the Best Radio Station Community Service Award. Local Community is so important to our mission. We truly are all in this together.” comments Bill Jankowski – General Manager
Regional Media took over the station operations in Princeton Illinois in February of 2019 and immediately began improving the content and broadcast quality of the stations and renewed the station’s commitment to the local area it serves.
