In finding a new and unique way to express the story of their remarkable work, OSF Saint Luke Medical Center’s laboratory was honored with an award last week. According to a release from OSF Saint Luke Medical Center on Friday, the laboratory at OSF was honored with the 2020 Fellowship of the Lab Photo Contest award sponsored by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the accrediting body for laboratorians.
To celebrate Lab Week at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center, the Laboratory Mission Partners enrolled and earned certification in “Operational Planning Guidelines and COVID-19 Partners Platform to Support Country Preparedness and Response”, a World Health Organization course on responding to COVID-19. Special thanks to Keith Butalid, Clinical Lab Scientist, for coordinating the effort, gathering photos, and creating and submitting the photo collage poster to highlight the team’s accomplishment for the ASCP 2020 Fellowship of the Lab Contest.
“I am very proud of our team, during Lab Week and year round, for the commitment to serving our patients, working as a team, getting certified in the COVID-19 course,” said Aaron Stevens, manager of laboratory services, Upper Western Region of OSF HealthCare. “The world needs laboratorians more than ever right now. We recognize our lab Mission Partners for their dedication to serving with the greatest care and love.”
