Agenda Released for Monday Night’s Kewanee City Council Meeting

The agenda for the next Kewanee City Council Meeting, Monday night, August 24th, has been released. Among the items on the agenda is a parking restriction on the east side of Franklin Street. The council will then here plans from the owners of Cerno’s Bar and Grill for a lane closure in the area of 206 North Chestnut Street from Friday, September 4th at 5 Pm to Monday, September 7th at 5 Pm for a weekend long celebration of Labor Day. Also on the agenda, the City Council will debate whether to eliminate the City of Kewanee Civil Service Commission, essentially altering the way the City of Kewanee goes about hiring Police Officers and Firefighters. The Kewanee City Council will debate whether the CIty of Kewanee should require Face Coverings in public places across the City. And the final item of the night will decide which bid will be accepted for the purchase of the City-owned parking area at 2nd and Chestnut.
