A Flu Shot Still Helps In Public Heath Battle Vs Coronavirus

As the fear of the coronavirus heats up in the United States, public health officials say there is something else you can do besides washing your hands and covering coughs to help. Get your flu shot. Dr. Engozi Nzike, Director of Illinois Department of Health, says it won’t keep you from getting the coronavirus but it will keep you healthy and that will help keep health facilities ready to treat others who may be sick.

The CDC says this year’s flu vaccine is about 45 percent effective and it’s working far better than last year’s vaccine did.
