$14 Million Coming to Illinois for COVID-19 Fight

Sen. Dick Durbin led a roundtable discussion today (Friday) with public health officials on the coronavirus response. Durbin says the best thing lawmakers did in Congress was to pass an $8 billion spending plan to help battle the spread of the virus. The state will receive $14.7 million of that total and the city of Chicago will get $8.7 million. Durbin says he thinks the White House is ready to work with Congress to make sure everything that can be done is being done it when it comes to fighting the virus in the US.

Neighboring Indiana now reports they have their first positive case of COVID-19.
