He was caught on a 2008 federal wiretap with Rod Blagojevich seeking to get appointed to an elected office, but Governor J.B. Pritzker says that has no bearing on his efforts to fight corruption now.
Back in 2008, Pritzker was caught on federal wiretaps with the then-governor.
During the 2018 election, former Governor Bruce Rauner used the audio of the calls in a campaign video.
President Trump commuted Blagojevich’s 14-year corruption sentence this week.
On Thursday, Pritzker brushed off questions about those tapes.
Pritzker said there is still corruption issues in Illinois adding he’s adamant about rooting it out. Blagojevich this week called Springfield a “swamp.”
