Princeton Mayor Says Still No Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 in Bureau County

Princeton Mayor Joel Quiram is reminding residents that there are still no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bureau, Putnam and Marshall Counties.  In his latest Facebook post, Mayor Quiram says “There are still 0 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bureau, Putnam and Marshall Counties.  This does not mean that COVID-19 is not in our counties.  It means that no case has been confirmed by laboratory testing.  The Illinois Department of Public Health is advising that regardless of whether there are lab confirmed cases we should assume that COVID-19 is in our communities.  To our knowledge, there is one test from our counties pending with the state labs.  We do not know how many, if any, are pending at private labs.  If there are any confirmed cases at any lab we will be notified.  For health questions about COVID-19, you can call the hotline at 1-800-889-3931 or email dph.sick@illinois.gov.
