No Injuries in DePue Fire that Destroys Landmark

No injuries were reported from a weekend fire that destroyed a DePue landmark.  The current residents escaped Saturday’s blaze at the former Rose Hill Manor, a one-time residential care facility.  Firefighters responded at around 4 p.m. and spent three hours on the scene.

Fire departments from DePue, Spring Valley, Ladd, Peru, Seatonville, Bureau, Granville, Hennepin, Tiskilwa, Cherry, Malden and Princeton all responded to the fire.  The American Red Red Cross was providing assistance to the residents.

The fire remains under investigation.
