Illinois Ahead Of Last Year’s Pace For Deaths

There have been more deaths so far this year than last year and the year before that, according to preliminary numbers released by the Illinois Department of Public Health.  Counting all deaths, not just those related to COVID-19, since the beginning of the year through April 15, there have been 34,453 cumulative deaths.  That’s up 2,593 from the same time in 2019 and 755 during the same time frame in 2018.
