I-80 Stop Near Princeton Leads to $1 Million Bond for Michigan Woman

Bond has been set at $1 million for a Michigan woman after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 just east of Princeton.  The Bureau County Sheriff’s Office reports 33-year old Lakieesha York of Detroit was pulled over for speeding.  They say TRIDENT (Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team) agents found 13 packages of methamphetamine hidden in a panel inside her vehicle.  The 25 pounds of meth has a street value of up to $1 million.  York was charged with the Class X felony of unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.  She’s being held in the Bureau County Jail as she awaits her next court date of July 17.  York faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
