Face Coverings Soon Required On All BPART Vehicles

Bureau Putnam Area Rural Transit (BPART) is now requiring all passengers to wear face coverings to protect themselves and others from illness.
The announcement was made on BPART’s Facebook page and states “Beginning on May 1, individuals will be required to wear a face-covering or a mask when in a public place where they can’t maintain a six-foot social distance.  Face coverings will be required in public indoor spaces, such as stores.  The new requirement applies to all individuals over the age of two who are able to medically tolerate a face covering or a mask.”
The message goes on to say that BPART is committed to the safety of all employees and riders.  In compliance with Governor Pritzker’s orders, no one will be allowed to board or ride their vehicles unless properly wearing a face covering.
Face coverings can be a commercially or homemade mask, a bandana, or a scarf which covers from above the nose down to the lower part of the face.  For questions or to schedule a ride, call BPART at 877-874-8813.
