Bureau County Fair Canceled and Concert Rescheduled

This year’s Bureau County Fair is canceled due to the evolving COVID-19 situation and its impact on community health and well-being.  The announcement was made by Bureau County Fair Board President Kyle Burrows, who says “the safety and health of our volunteers and fairgoers is our top priority”.  He says “the decision to cancel the fair was not made lightly, and we join those who are disappointed and saddened by the cancellation of the 165th annual Bureau County Fair. This is only the second time in the 165 year history of the fair that it has cancelled,  which only happened in 1862 for the Civil War.”  The cancellation includes all fair events, including the Bureau County Fair Queen Pageants.  The Martina McBride concert has been rescheduled for Thursday August 26th and tickets previously purchased will be honored for the rescheduled concert. Additional information can be found at www.bureaucountyfair.comBurrows says planning for the 2021 Bureau County Fair is well underway. The 166th Bureau County Fair will be held August 25-29, 2021.
