Illinois State Police District 1 Commander, Captain Matthew Hodgdon, has announced District 1 enforcement figures and activity for March.
Illinois State Police District 1 Troopers issued 482 citations, 488 written warnings, and made 25 criminal arrests during the month of March. Speeding accounted for 239 citations, 27 citations were issued for occupant restraint violations and 21 citations were issued for distracted driving violations.
Troopers investigated 15 traffic crashes, assisted 121 motorists, and conducted 181 commercial vehicle inspections, 21 of which were placed out-of-service for safety reasons. There were 5 arrests for driving under the influence.
District 1, which encompasses Carroll, Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside counties, investigated no fatal traffic crashes in March.
