In response to Gov. JB Pritzker’s “stay at home” order, all locations of Spoon River College will remain operational but closed to students, according to college president Curt Oldfield. Campus facilities will be locked and unavailable for walk-in services.
As of today (March 23), spring semester classes have been moved online or will otherwise be available in a alternative delivery format for the rest of the term, Oldfield said. Additional details will be sent to students via Canvas or student e-mail.
All adult education programs and community outreach classes are suspended until further notice. Support services, including academic advising, success coaching, mental health counseling and tutoring are available remotely.
In addition, all spring events have been canceled or postponed, including the 2020 spring commencement. Oldfield said refunds will be issued for cap and gown purchase.
