The Spoon River College Foundation has committed $10,000 to a Student Emergency Hardship Fund to help current students facing negative impacts related to the COVID-19 crisis as a result of what they call necessary decisions made by the state, local businesses and governments.
Those needs may include food and housing insecurity, loss of income or access to technology to complete online coursework for the Spring 2020 semester, unplanned medical bills, or other unanticipated expenses related to the crisis.
Current Spoon River College students are encouraged to apply after talking to advisers, a faculty member, or SRC Student Success Coaches. Each request will have a maximum of $500, one grant per student.
