Press Release: Battlegrounds Fundraiser Collects $1,000 for Victims Services

Macomb, Illinois, October 15, 2021) – Macomb game store Battlegrounds LGS, LLC recently hosted a fundraiser to benefit Western Illinois Regional Council-Community Action Agency (WIRC-CAA) Victim Services. Thanks to the support of their customers, the local business was able to collect and donate $1,000 to the local agency.
The fundraiser was held during game tournaments at the store. Participants had the option to donate for the privilege of cheating during the game they were playing.
The donation will go towards providing crisis counseling, medical advocacy, and legal advocacy to local survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and/or stalking.
“All of our services are free to survivors of abuse, as well as their friends and family,” said Victim Services Public Relations Manager Jamie Roth. “This donation will help us to continue our mission of ending the cycle of abuse, and we are grateful that Battlegrounds and their customers share that mission with us.”
Domestic and sexual violence can happen to anyone of any ability, age, sexual orientation, income level, education level, religion, gender identity, or ethnic background. If you have experienced or witnessed abuse at any point in your life, or if you are being stalked, call Victim Services’ 24/7 free and confidential hotline at 309-837-5555.
