Western Illinois University is implementing new COVID-19 guidelines. University officials have announced the shift to Phase III at both the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses.
The University Office of Risk Management cites decreasing numbers of active COVID-19 cases as the reason for the change. Under the new guidelines, 50 people are now allowed to attend in-person events on campus, which is up from 10 previously.
The dining centers in Corbin/Olson and Thompson Halls as well as University Union are open again with seating six feet apart and the continued mandatory use of face coverings at all on-campus locations. The university is continuing to provide free COVID-19 testing on-campus.
